Update on Denise K.
Good news! Just received a phone call from Denise - she is doing much better! The puncture wound is draining, which means no surgery, and she thinks she'll be able to play golf within a couple of weeks!

Club Championship - Day 1
Taking the lead at the end of Day 1 of our Club Championship is Helen Bourquin! Helen shot an amazing 85! Even more amazing is that she shot her age! That's right....the low scorer is 85 years young! Congratulations, Helen.

Way To Go, Clare!
Well, our Club Championship got underway today, and guess who got a hole in one?????
None other than our President, Clare Shaffer. Clare hit a beautiful drive on number 17, which hit in front of the green, then proceeded to roll right into the cup! None of the other players were positive that it went into the cup, but as we got closer to the green and didn't see a ball on it, we thought there was a good possibility! And sure enough, there was the ball nestled in the bottom of the cup!

Congratulations Clare!

Update on Denise Kudla
The following is an email I received from Denise Kudla.
First and foremost I want to thank Josie, Donna, Pam, & Jean for taking over when I was unable. I owe u all when I feel better. Thks also to DAnna & Clare for the early help.
I went to the DR. today and the news was not what I had hoped. I am healing and no tendons are involved, but I have one puncture wound from the dog bite that is still causing problems.. and pain.
I am down for at least another week and after that the DR will decide if I need to be cut back open to drain the infection. what can I say.. more of the same this week. Elevating the arm, taking antibiotics and praying for recovery and sleep!
I am so sorry to all of the club for my unfortunate timing and I appreciate everyone picking up the slack. I miss u all and wish I wasn't the accident prone dork that I am.
Thank you all for the concern & love. You truly are some of the best women I have the priviledge of calling friends.
If I don't make it to the PINK PIG party, eat a little extra for me!!
See you all soon,
Denise

U. S. Open at Pebble Beach
Clare and Joan at the U. S. Open at Pebble Beach
We were walking scorers on Thursday and Friday. Notables we scored for who made the cut were Jason Gore, Matt Bettencourt, and Scott Langley. We met up with Gerry Brennan, Amelia Albro, Rhonda and Brian Galyardt on Thursday night for dinner. Pebble Beach was beautiful as always. The crowds were awesome..never seen such a big production the USGA put on. Really different from the PGA tour events we've been to. Fun, fun, fun!
Rhonda is left of Paul Casey - Jeremy between 2 white visors.

Dinner With the Girls
A group of 40-year-old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the waiters there were very good looking and had buff bodies.
Ten years later at 50-years-of-age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the food there was very good and the wine selection was excellent.
Ten years later at 60-years-of-age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because they could eat there in peace and quiet and the restaurant had a beautiful view of the ocean.
Ten years later at 70-years-of-age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and they even had an elevator.
