September/October Newesletter

Starting next month (September) the newsletter will be issued every two months! The blog will continue to be updated more often, of course, so don't forget to check out the blog for up-to-date news! Look for the September/October issue of Forebits at the clubhouse next Tuesday!

A Note from Maureen

Dear Ladies,

September/October here we go -- swinging into action! What a busy month we are going to have starting with our traditional Ace of the Month on September 1st. I hope you're all looking forward to the Ringer awards -- I played my eight games and hope you did too. I look forward to a good turnout on the 8th to congratulate the 2009 Ringer winners -- (you try saying it!). We have some important business to discuss at the General Meeting that day and we need everyone's attendance.

On September 15th we will once again celebrate our 80's Ladies. It's their day, all day! The sign-up sheet for this event will be on the check-in table September 1st. Don't anyone dare say we can't do more than one thing at a time -- remember that song "I am Woman" !! The 15th is also our Beat the Pro day. and always a fun time. Finally we end this very busy month with the first round of our President's Cup. Don't forget to put your name on the sign-up sheet -- it's on the bulletin board. Last but not least, be sure to sign up for our annual "Battle of the Sexes" on Friday, September 25th. It's an 8:30am shotgun and always a very fun event. With all the golf we're playing we should be able to beat the guys this year!

October ushers in a return of our beautiful Fall colors. Acorns will be dropping (ouch!) and our days will be cooler. We'll be playing President's Cup all month, looking forward to the final round and awards on October 27th

As many of you know, our dear Pam Finley is on the ailing list. We will certainly miss her on the golf course and hope to see her back on the tee soon. Hurry backs are also in order for Trudy Engberg. Congratuations on your successful surgery, Trudy. You're a trooper! And speaking of TROOPERS, Ruth Barton -- this golf course is not the same without you. Ruth says she'll be one of the "cart girls" for the 80's Ladies this year, joined by Harriett Stevens. Golf is never the same when one of our ladies isn't playing. It's hard to keep our head downs when we're missing you, so get back out here soon!

I'll see you on the tee!

Maureen
