October Newsletter

We're trying something new - no separate email newsletter - everything will be on the blog. There will be paper copies in the pro shop as well for those who don't have computers.

OCTOBER 2008 NEWSLETTER
A Note from Our Prez
October opens the door to cooler weather (YEAH) and the beginning of a beautiful color change in Paso Robles. It also brings us to the 80's Ladies Tournament on October 21st. The sign-up sheet for this event will be at the check-in desk in the Pro Shop beginning October 7th. As a reminder, 80's ladies, please do not sign up on the regular sign-up sheet for that Tuesday. Your $3 game fee will be in a separate pot for this tournament's award money. You will, however, be eligible for Closest to the Pin in the regular game if you want to participate. I have selected a fun format for this tournament and planned lots of treats. Don't miss out on your special tournament!
You 2009 Club membership dues ($65) should be submitted to Jean Hayward by mid-November.
We will have course raters at Paso Robles October 17th. They will be re-certifying our course rating and, if necessary due to course changes (tree removals, etc.), making necessary amendments. These raters will not be looking at our handicap allocation. Once we have been re-rated, we will make any necessary changes to our hole-by-hole handicap allocation.
The deadline for the County Championship sign-up is October 31st. Our Club participation is important this year since we are the hosts. Clare Shaffer and Jean Hayward, along with the entire committee are working very hard to make our Club proud and appreciate any and all support from our membership!
Please remember to read the Board's proposed By-Law amendment posted on the bulletin board in the Pro Shop. You will remember my discussion regarding the importance of this By-Law change at our General Meeting and Elections September 2nd. We will be voting as a Club on this at the next General Meeting October 28th. By the way, don't forget to sign up for the luncheon on the 28th - sign up sheet is on the board.
Get well wishes to Jayne Donkin. We miss you Jayne, but hear you're back to playing bridge, so we're hopeful it won't be too much longer before we see you on the course again. And ditto to Cyndi Bergin, much missed VP sidekick. Come back soon. I promise to do the "heavy lifting".
See you on the Tee!
Maureen
