A Note from Maureen

Dear Ladies ---

Writing my note to you each month reminds me how fast time passes. I just finished my thoughts for March and it's time to speak of April. Our weather has turned so lovely and after our cold winter the warm days are very welcome. April ushers in our beloved DDM tournament. I hope everyone has found a partner. I've got mine and I can't wait to tee it up with Grace on Thursday and Friday!

We have a little over a month left before our Grape Escape. If anyone is looking for a partner let me know so I can help you find the perfect person. We need volunteers to help that day (Friday, May 15th) so please let me know if you are not playing but would like to lend a hand. Your Invitational Committee is hard at work to make this year's event the best ever. I just received the tee prizes and they are really special. I hope everyone will be as pleased as I am.

Spring is definitely here so what better way to enjoy our beautiful days than to call three friends and make a tee time. I hope I'm part of your foursome this month!

Cocktails at Tiffany's - California Version

Maureen attended her friend Nancy's member/guest invitational at Indian Ridge Country Club in Palm Desert recently. The theme was "Cocktails at Tiffany's" and these gals took second place in their Holly Golightly inspired attire! (That's my striped kitty Nancy is holding, BTW).

Today's game was a Modified Scramble, and the hostesses had to scramble to rearrange the groups at the last minute because of lots of cancellations! Here are the results for the game.

2nd Place with a 80 was the team of: Ann Berry, Carolyn Getman, Donna Ferguson and Ethel McCrea.

Board Meeting Postponed

The Tuesday, March 24th Board Meeting has been postponed until March 31st.

Club Championship Winners

Our Club Championship Tournament culminated after 3 days of grueling play! Co-Chairs Clare Shaffer and Maureen Allen did an outstanding job of running the tournament.
Our new club champion for 2009 is Rhonda Galyardt, who shot a 287 and won a sudden death playoff on hole #2. Congratulations, Rhonda!

Runner-up was Joan Rogers!

Helen Bourquin won Championship Flight Low Net with a 238.

Kim Felgenhaurer won closest to the pin with 10' 81/2". Rene'e Rahailly was 2nd at 14'11 1/2"

The Paso Robles Club Championship will be held March 10 and 12 with the final round and awards luncheon on Tuesday March 17.

I know we've all been scattered due to rain, jobs and other vicissitudes of life, so if you want to play all you need to do is sign up at the Pro Shop or send me an email and I'll get you in.

I can take entries all the way up to Sunday afternoon on March 8th for all of you "last minute" gals.
