Sue Lin would like to thank all of the gals (and guys) that helped her in the recent DDM Tournament. She says that she couldn't have done it without all of their help and support. And a big thanks to Eddie Anshen for providing the delicious continental breakfast on the first day of the Tournament.

Our club is so fortunate to have such helpful and giving members who are always ready to step in and carry part of the load whenever it's needed!

Tuesday Game - Ace of the Month

Today was Ace of the Month. The weather was not cooperative, though, and nearly everyone dropped out. However, there were two intrepid, hardy, plucky (some might say crazy), players that braved the rain, wind and a very s-l-o-w foursome ahead of them to finish.






Jean says that we'll redo Ace of the Month next week.

A 900 yard par 3 is in South Africa. The green is shaped like the African continent and completely surrounded by a sea of sand. You hit off a cliff over 1,400 feet above the hole and it takes 26 seconds for your ball to land. You have to take a helicopter to get to the hole. They post spotters around the green to let you know where your ball lands because you can’t possibly see it. Padraig Harrington is the only person to ever par it. He did it in a playoff after a recent tournament there. It is the 19th-hole and only used for playoffs. Watch him do it…with a ‘sandy’ no less.

Barbara Triol and her mother, Bettie, took 1st place in the first flight with a 135!

Gaye Mayfield and Pam Finley were 2nd with a 139.

DAnna Lawson and Majorie Hamon also had a 139 for 3rd.

2nd Flight 1st Place was taken by Maureen Allen and Grace Bergin with an astounding 128!

2nd Place in the 2nd Flight was Rene'e Rahilly and Jane Villafana with a 137. (No picture available)

3rd Place was Jean Hayward and Miko Ogata with a 137.

Dorcey's sons were on hand to help congratulate the winners!

DDM Tournament

Today was Day 1 of the annual 2 day Dorcey Donkin Memorial Tournament. This tournament honors our former member, past president and club champion Dorcey Donkin. It is a partner's event and the winners run next year's tournament.



These lovely ladies were all friends of Dorcey's.
