Message from the Prez
Dear Ladies,
Well....we're officially at the mid-year mark. June -- the month for weddings, graduations, family vacations (oops here come the grandkids!) AND we still find time to squeeze in our beloved golf. This also brings us to our last month of "official" golf and ushers in The Ringer. Be sure and sign up for our ever-fantastic Summer Ringer which starts Wednesday, July 1st and ends August 31st.
Our ever-favorite Pink Pig Party is June 23rd after golf. Rene'e Rahilly has generously offered her gorgeous home again for the event. Thanks Rene'e! Be sure and sign up so we can get a headcount for our lunch.
DAnna is going to be taking a much earned vacation during the summer months and will be back to her Newsletter in early September.
Our Grape Escape was very successful and hopefully everyone had a good day. There are a few hat clips (this year's tee prize) available for sale if anyone would like one.
I'll see you on the tee!
I'll see you on the tee!

9 Words Women Use
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' ... that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying up yours!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3. *

Message from the Prez
Dear Ladies --
Here we are in "the merry, merry month of May"! And that means our 2009 Grape Escape on May 15th is almost here. I hope everyone who can play has signed up. I promise next year I'm going to do something different so that hopefully more of you will be able to play. I'll tell you about this idea at our next General Meeting to see what you think about a different, partner optional, format. But that's next year! Only two more months now until our Summer Ringer. I'm looking forward to golf in warmer weather and I hope you sign up with me so we can play together.

Learn How to Use the USGA Tournament Pairings Program
All members of the Pacific Women's Golf Association are invited to participate in an online training session on the Tournament Pairings Program (TPP). The TPP is part of the USGA's Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) system which Jean Hayward and I have been using for the past 5 years for making scorecards, calculating Skins games, scoring our Invitational and running the SLO County Championship.
The training session is free and will be conduction on Tuesday, May 19 between 10am and 12pm. If you are interested, you may register at the following link: http://golfpwga.ghinclub.com/club/cal?&main.now=05-21-2009&main.invoker=%2Fclub%2Fcal%3F%26main.now%3D05-21-2009%26main.cal%3Dmonth&main.cal=month&main.id=151789&main.ctrl=eventmgr.detail&main.view=eventa.detail
It would be great to have more people familiar with the program and expand the knowledge base of our golf club. If you have questions, send me an email clare@tcsn.net or call me.
